Ameyoko is the all-inclusive shopping street of Tokyo

The title doesn’t lie, as you can find just about anything and everything from food, clothing, cosmetics, and accessories at Ameyoko!

Located between Ueno and Okachimachi stations is the famous shopping street known as Ameyoko. Here, you’ll find everything you need from cheap eats to fresh seafood, fashion, cosmetics, clothing, and more!

Fresh fish ready to eat!

The types of restaurants at Ameyoko are quite versatile, and you’ll find so many different cuisines at varying price ranges. While it was originally a candy street, Ameyoko has grown to also include savoury dishes and other items beyond the food and drink category.

One of the dishes I strongly recommend when you come down to Ameyoko is the fresh sashimi rice bowls which you can purchase at numerous stores. My friend opted for the eel unagi rice bowl, which I’d also recommend for all you seafood lovers out there.

Countless stores for all your needs

There is something for everyone at Ameyoko, whether you’re shopping for home cooking, looking for a quick feed, or upgrading your clothes cupboard. The best part is the spectrum of budgets that Ameyoko’s market stalls cater to, drawing in visitors on a budget as well as those looking for something extravagant.

Enjoy an outdoor feed with a mate!

No matter where you choose to feast (I recommend hopping from store to store), you can enjoy a memorable time with a friend or loved one on an outdoor table soaking in the vibe. As the photo shows, we hit up a bit of Chinese cuisine after our Japanese seafood feed, after all, variety is key at Ameyoko!
