GOKUCHEE’s “Drinkable Cheesecake” is extraordinarily delicious!

You read that right. Drinkable cheesecake is a thing in Japan! All made possible by GOKUCHEE bubble tea specialty store in Kyoto!

One day I was flicking through Uber Eats in Kyoto when I found this store selling “drinkable cheesecakes.” The pictures on the screen were enough to get me to order one, even if it did come at a hefty 800 yen (5 USD) price.

Delivered in Perfect Condition

In the past, I’ve had some pretty horrific results when it came to getting beverages delivered. Not to name names, but drinks delivered from Gong Cha or Chatime would often arrive a little melted, slightly spilled, or with all the toppings messed up and mixed into the drink.

GOKUCHEE seems to have found the perfect packaging formula to avoid these nuisances. The lid is sealed very tightly and the plastic cup is quite strong and durable compared to other bubble tea stores. Perhaps the nature of the drink helps too, as the thick texture and crunchy toppings are independently solid enough to not mix into each other even on the road.

Unbelievable Taste!

It’s hard to believe this picture-perfect drink was delivered to me several kilometers away via scooter in an Uber Eats delivery bag. It both looked and tasted like it was fresh out of the kitchen! Delicious chunky bits of cheesecake crumbs dominated the surface of the drink, acting as a shield to the magical elixir that lay beneath it. Indeed, the term “drinkable cheesecake” is the best and only way to describe the taste of this magnificent GOKUCHEE creation.

Service with a Smile!

Everything is better with a smile! I quite liked the way GOKUCHEE goes the extra mile to handwrite “Thank you” on the plastic bag (complete with an emoji and heart). Perhaps they knew they were delivering to a foreigner, but either way I thought it was interesting that they used English instead of Japanese in this instance. Talk about tailored customer experience!
