Admiring the dazzling Christmas lights at Sapporo Station

Disembarking from Sapporo Station during the winter will instantly cast you into the Christmas spirit with its beautiful bright lights!

Sapporo Station is perhaps the largest station in Hokkaido and is a central point for connecting trains to all of Hokkaido’s major train lines. During winter, the station is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights that wrap around the leafless tree branches, giving them life when they need it most.

Enchanting Atmosphere

The snowy climate goes hand-in-hand with the dazzling indigo lights of Sapporo Station.

Pure white snow grounds turn a deep blue color as the Christmas decorations light up the area.

During winter, Sapporo Station becomes an itinerary destination in itself, offering a festive spirit amidst the many cafes, restaurants, and department stores in its big shopping complex.

Cool Photo Spots

Sapporo Station is best enjoyed at night when all the decorations and exhibits light up to reveal their true beauty. For social media enthusiasts, it’s the perfect place to get some signature shots with these photogenic exhibits that were designed for exactly that! It’s also pretty cool the way the ground is lit up with artistic patterns and snowflakes.

Interesting Exhibits

It’s not just Christmas decorations and lights that make Sapporo Station unique, but also these interesting exhibits featuring statues of people, perhaps with some kind of symbolic meaning behind it. When they’ve been covered by blankets of thick snow, it becomes all the more interesting and aesthetic.
