The 2025 sakura season in Japan has arrived, and Kyoto’s wonderful cherry blossoms are blooming all over the prefecture!

Along the Fushimi canal are wonderful cherry blossom trees that hang over the water. Throughout the day, traditional Japanese wooden boats pass through the canal with amazing views of the cherry blossoms on each side. It’s especially beautiful the way the pink petals reflect against the clear water to create a serine ambiance.
Bright Pink Petals Everywhere!

No matter where you are in Kyoto, there’ll be a bright pink cherry blossom tree around the corner! Whether you’re by the Kamo River or the Fushimi Canal, Kyoto is abundant in scenic sakura trees that run along beautiful flowing waterways.
Maruyama Park

In the geisha district of Gion by the Yasaka Shrine is Kyoto’s famous Maruyama Park. I previously talked about the stunning autumn leaves at this park, but this time of year, it’s taken an all-new look with aesthetic cherry blossom trees. It’s a hot spot in Kyoto for picnics with family and friends and there are also food and drink stalls that give it a festive vibe!
