Winning the Monde Selection Grand Gold Quality Award, Asahikawa Tsuboya by Tsuboya Kibana no Mori is Hokkaido’s best confectionery treat!

I was going about my day working at the beautiful SOWAKA hotel on my night shift, when I stumbled upon this box of treats in the lunch room. Beautifully wrapped and placed in an aesthetically enchanting box, a co-worker had brought these treats from Hokkaido’s Tsuboya Kibana no Mori for us Kyoto dwellers to enjoy.
Asahikawa Tsuboya

One of their most prized products, the Asahikawa Tsuboya, features a delicious white cream sandwiched between two toasty almond galette waffles.
The packaging is truly majestic with its beautiful starry design and authentic Japanese kanji character reading “Kibana,” referring to the name of this delicacy.
Unreal Textures & Aromas
Unwrapping one of these bad boys reveals a most intriguing biscuit of sorts.
The patterned design features many mini holes across the galette waffle which has a rather scrumptious texture on touch.
Furthermore, a powerful aroma of sweet baked sugars and the scent of the almond galette captivate the senses upon opening.

A Beautiful Combination of Flavors

Indeed, before you even take a bite, you’ll know what you’re in for!
Angling the Asahikawa Tsuboya reveals the sweet cream filling inside which is made of white chocolate ingredients.
An incredibly ecstatic combination of harmonious textures and complementary flavors with every bite, I guarantee you’ll be reaching for another!
