Asakusa’s TOKYO-W-INN is Tokyo’s best budget-friendly hostel

Even though I only spent one night at TOKYO-W-INN, I’ve kept it in the back of my mind as my go-to hostel for saving money in Tokyo!

Perfect View Of Tokyo Skytree

It’s not every day you get a clear view of a monumental building from a hostel balcony, but at TOKYO-W-INN you sure do!

Located in the heart of Asakusa just a short walk from Asakusa station, the location and price are impossible to beat!

For a hostel that costs less than 15 USD per night, I’d say that’s a pretty good deal! At night, you get to enjoy the changing colors of Tokyo Skytree much like a light show.

All Your Kitchen Necessities

The kitchen area at TOKYO-W-INN has all the necessities you need, from rice cookers to tea and coffee and, of course, a fridge to store goods.

There are also plenty of kitchen utensils, appliances, cookware, and seasonings for your home cooking needs (though I recommend eating at a restaurant if you’re here on holiday!).

There is also a tap with drinking water and a central table where you can relax and eat or drink. You’ll find a lounge area with comfortable sofas where you can relax too.

Solid Capsule-Style Bed

The dormitory is quite an efficient one here at TOKYO-W-INN, offering capsule-like beds for leisure and sleep.

Curtains are provided for privacy, and you can stretch your legs as far out as you like (I’m quite tall and was able to do this).

The mattress and blankets were very comfortable and clean, and the wooden walls provide noise-canceling peace and quiet.

You can also store your luggage in the nearby compartments, though it’s your responsibility to provide your own safety locks!

There is a reason I said these capsule-style beds are for “leisure and sleep,” because they are more than just beds.

You will find a rather large mirror on the back wall of the capsule, as well as a light switch and a small storage space for personal belongings.

There are power sockets that allow you to charge your electronic devices, making it easy to watch movies or play video games in here!

Of course, TOKYO-W-INN also comes with free Wi-Fi like most of Japan’s hostels, so you can save your mobile data while you’re here too!

A 5-Minute Walk To Sensoji Temple

When visiting Asakusa for the first time, it’s only natural you’ll visit the site they are most famous for; Sensoji Temple!

TOKYO-W-INN is only a 5-minute walk to both Sensoji Temple and Tokyo Skytree, making it the accommodation of choice for sightseeing in Asakusa!

Enjoy The Night Vibe!

As I mentioned, Tokyo Skytree puts on an impressive light show display every night.

Grab yourself some snacks and enjoy the show from the balcony at TOKYO-W-INN!

Nearby, you’ll find a variety of convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Family Mart, and Lawson, where you can stock up on food for your stay at the hostel.

There are plenty of tables and chairs outside, making it a great environment for chatting with a friend and meeting new people.

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
