Rating the best Ferris wheels in Osaka

Osaka is home to vibrant neon lights, delicious street food, and Ferris wheels! Let’s take a look at the best Ferris wheels in Osaka.

HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel – Umeda

Located in the busy commercial district of Umeda, the HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel stands atop the HEP shopping building. With the extra leverage given by the building, this iconic structure reaches a stellar 106 meters of height above ground!

The views from inside the carts are truly something to behold. Not only can you see the entire skyline of Umeda, but even further beyond that into the mountainous backdrop.

The HEP FIVE Ferris wheel can be accessed for just 500 yen a ride (just 3.70 USD!).

Beautiful city views and mountainous skylines give the HEP FIVE Ferris wheel an easy 7 out of 10 rating in my books.

Don Quijote Ferris Wheel – Dotonbori

Located in the heart of Osaka is the Don Quijote Ferris wheel which rests on top of a store of the same franchise. Unlike the HEP FIVE, Don Quijote’s Ferris Wheel does not rest on top of a building, giving it a shorter height of 77 meters above the ground.

Don’t let the smaller height deter you from this amazing experience.

Unlike the concrete jungle views you get with the HEP FIVE, the Don Quijote Ferris wheel offers more pleasant views overlooking the stunning Dotonbori River.

An even better alternative is trying the Don Quijote Ferris wheel at night when the Dotonbori River truly lights up!

For just 600 yen (4.50 USD), you can enjoy the stunning neon lights and vibrant nightlife from high above! The Don Quijote Ferris wheel gets a solid 8 out of 10 from me.

Tempozan Ferris Wheel – Tempozan Harbor Village

Saving the best for last is the famous Tempozan Ferris wheel located in Tempozan Harbor Village in Osaka. Incredibly, this Ferris wheel reaches a height of 112 meters above the ground, surpassing the HEP FIVE without a height boost.

Looking out to one side of the cabin and you will see the entire Osaka Bay Area in its shining glory.

On the other side, you will see the amazing Konohana Bridge, which was the largest suspension bridge at the time of its construction.

Not only is Tempozan the tallest Ferris wheel in Osaka, but it also has the most stunning water views of them all.

Understandably, it comes at a higher price of 800 yen (6 USD), and a higher personal rating of 9 out of 10 (because nothing is perfect)!
