I’ve done my fair share of hiking all over the world, but there are a few unique traits of Japan’s hiking routes that I want to highlight.

Mt. Hiei is easily my favorite hiking trail in Kyoto, not just for the challenging route, but also the perfect picnic spot at the summit!

Whether you’re here on holiday or on a long-term basis, it’s worth exploring Japan’s supermarket chains for delicious foods at low prices!
