Set apart from Japan’s “big 3” convenience stores, Daily Yamazaki specializes in baked goods such as sandwiches, sweet breads, and cake!
If you ever come across a Daily Yamazaki while in Japan, be sure to head right in! Unlike the big 3 convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson), this one’s a bit of a rare find and offers special items you won’t get anywhere else!
Owned by the Yamazaki Baking Corporation, Daily Yamazaki is a chain of convenience stores across Japan that specialize in baked goods made fresh for consumption! Like any other convenience store, you can also get basic groceries, cheap lunch packs, and access ATMs too.
French Toast, Egg Rolls, And Matcha Cake!
The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into a Daily Yamazaki is the huge section for baked goods near the front counter.
Just on look, you can see how soft the texture of the breads is, such that they must be wrapped in a thin sheet of transparent plastic in order to avoid denting the delicate surface.
Baked goods include many sweets such as French toast, matcha cakes, and melon pan, while savory goods include egg sandwiches, chicken cutlet rolls, and cheeseburgers.
In addition, there is a dedicated hot food section where you can get warm bread and ready-to-eat foods such as bento boxes and fried chicken.
Unique Home Recipes!
Home cooking packs are no stranger to Japan’s convenience stores, but Daily Yamazaki offers varieties I’ve yet to see anywhere else!
For example, this beef curry mix from one of Japan’s famous 24-hour beef bowl restaurants “Matsuya” is a unique product you won’t see in most Japanese supermarkets.
They also offer delicious cheese curries and hayashi or “hashed beef” style curries among many others, featuring a wide variety of different recipes that you can cook up at home in minutes!
Great Ice Cream Varieties!
“Now I need something sweet” is something we all say after a deliciously savory meal, and Daily Yamazaki delivers on this front.
In addition to the usual Häagen-Dazs ice creams you find at all Japanese convenience stores, they also offer a huge range of Baskin-Robbins ice cream tubs too!
On top of that, Daily Yamazaki has their own exclusive brand of parfaits, once again offering goods you won’t get at the big 3 convenience stores!
Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
