Hafez is the best halal Iranian restaurant in Osaka

Named after the Arabic word meaning “guardian,” Hafez truly takes on the role as the gatekeeper of halal Iranian food in Osaka!

Just a short walk from Dotonbori in the heart of Osaka, Hafez is an Iranian restaurant that offers top-quality meat dishes that are 100% halal certified.

Located on the 2nd floor, you’ll be transported to a new world as soon as you walk in. From the ambiance to the Arabian decorations and portraits to the classic Middle-Eastern music, it’s easy to forget you’re in Japan at Hafez!

Succulent Kebabs

With a wide range of mouth-watering lamb, beef, and chicken kebab dishes, it’s no wonder Hafez attracts customers of both Japanese and foreign backgrounds.

As someone of Arabian heritage living in Japan, dining here allowed me to reconnect with my culture and take a quick break from everyday Japanese cuisine.

Iranian food typically consists of long pieces of juicy meat on a bed of rice and a side of tomatoes and lettuce, and Hafez has the formula down to a tee!

Indian, Persian, & Turkish Cuisine

Quick disclaimer: Iran was formally called Persia (and still is to an extent), but whether you search up Iranian or Persian food in Osaka on Google, you’ll surely get Hafez as the top result!

However, the awesome thing about this restaurant is they also offer Indian and Turkish cuisines in addition to Iranian food, giving you a diverse range of halal dishes to choose from.

For Indian cuisine, I highly recommend the cheese naan bread and butter chicken curry, both of which were made to the quality of an authentic Indian restaurant.

Turkish cuisine at Hafez includes chicken adana kebabs and gojeo paneer (Turkish feta and tomato appetizer).

A Meal Fit For A King!

By ordering a little of each cuisine, you’ll be greeted with a delicious spread of succulent dishes from Iran, Turkey, and India; a meal fit for a king!

Personally, I loved the diversity of Hafez’s menu and will absolutely visit again in the near future! For a truly immersive but affordable Arabian dining experience (with a hint of Indian!), I strongly recommend Hafez halal food restaurant in Osaka; you won’t regret it!
