Halal Ramen Naniwaya is Osaka’s Muslim-friendly Japanese diner

Serving up delicious ramen, succulent wagyu beef, and crispy fried entrées, Halal Ramen Naniwaya is a God-send for Muslims in Osaka!

Finding halal food in Japan can be a struggle, especially when you’ve had enough of fish and prawns and want a taste of some real juicy beef and chicken.

Halal Ramen Naniwaya is a halal-certified ramen restaurant in the heart of Osaka, just a short walk from Dotonbori River, serving up delicious noodle soups, rice bowls, and side dishes.

100% Certified Halal Menu

The great thing about Halal Ramen Naniwaya that Muslims will undoubtedly appreciate is the fact that this restaurant is exclusively halal, and I mean to the tee.

This means you won’t find any non-halal items on the menu such as pork, non-halal beef and chicken, or alcoholic beverages.

Ramen is an iconic Japanese noodle dish that is loved by millions around the world, but the issue for Muslims is the broth which is made of pork stock.

Halal Ramen Naniwaya takes this into account and offers 100% halal ramen noodles with soup bases including shoyu, miso, and spicy.

The prices are quite reasonable and not unlike that of typical ramen shops in Japan, so it’s a great option that suits all budgets!

Delicious Pork-Free Ramen

Indeed, the ramen here is absolutely pork-free from the meat ingredients to the broth.

I opted for the Special Naniwaya Ramen which came with grilled chicken pieces, vegetables, eggs, noodles, and a special homemade broth.

My brother went for the miso ramen which, quite frankly, I’d argue was the better choice (I tasted both).

The serving size is quite generous, despite the fact that I ordered the smallest size, but feel free to go for the largest size at just 200 yen extra!

The ramen alone is enough to satisfy one’s hunger, but of course, we simply had to try some of the side dishes too (it’s a rare halal experience after all!).

Premium Halal Wagyu Beef

Perhaps the dish that stole the whole show was this premium wagyu beef side dish.

The level of quality was comparable to A5 wagyu beef, the highest grade of premium beef in all of Japan!

At first, I scoffed at the price of this dish which exceeded the ramen by several hundred yen.

However, one bite of this succulent tasty meat and the price was completely justified!

It’s hard enough to find halal beef in Japan, let alone top-grade premium wagyu beef, so this was an absolute winner!

Prayer Room

The cherry on top at Halal Ramen Naniwaya was the prayer room provided which simply makes anyone of the Islamic faith feel right at home.

With prayer mats positioned to face toward the qibla (Mecca – direction of prayer), this restaurant makes it easy to keep up with your prayers while on the go!

The best part is people of all faiths are encouraged to use the prayer room.

It is a place built for those building a connection with God or developing their spirituality, no matter your religious background.

By the end of the experience, my brother and I were extremely satisfied with everything.

The halal food, affordable price, and convenient facilities were enough to make us say alhamdulillah (praise be to God) with gratitude.
