A short walk from Hakata Shinkansen Station, Hotel Hakata Place on Fukuoka’s coast provides a pleasant stay before your boat to Busan!

When taking the Fukuoka to Busan (a.k.a. Japan to Korea) ferry, you’ll want somewhere to stay that’s close to Hakata Port. Fortunately, Hotel Hakata Place provides affordable and quality accommodation as close to Hakata Port as possible, ensuring you don’t miss that boat to Korea!
Spacious, Comfortable Rooms

The rooms at Hotel Hakata Place are many, spanning a large complex of 12 floors with options for your preferred budget and levels of luxury. We opted for a standard two-bed room with a lovely view of the Hakata Port from the 5th floor (excuse the mess please). The beds, pillows, and blankets were exceptionally comfortable for what was described as a 3-star hotel, though it received an average of over 4 stars on Google reviews, which I’d agree with!
Nice Amenities

A television with access to all the local Japanese TV channels, a minibar fridge with complimentary water, tea, and coffee, and even an in-room microwave to heat up your combini goods, I’d say all the basics were taken care of!
Speaking of basics, the toilet was also exceptionally pleasant, complete with the iconic Japanese smart bidet toilet and even a hot tub in the shower.
There are also comfortable robes provided by the hotel as well as Wi-Fi, charging ports, and a workspace, perfect for remote work!
Pole Position!
Not only is Hotel Hakata Place surrounded by 7-Eleven and Lawson stores, but it’s also a quick stroll away from Hakata Bay’s docking port.
Stunning photos of Hakata Bay’s choppy waters and the Hakata Port Tower, an iconic symbol of Fukuoka Prefecture, can all be enjoyed just around the corner from the hotel.
So if you’ve got a ferry cruise booked from Fukuoka to Korea, look no further than Hotel Hakata Place for a pleasant stay with pole position for docking!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
