Isomaru Suisan is Japan’s 24-hour fresh seafood restaurant

In Japan, 24-hour restaurants aren’t limited to McDonald’s and Burger King. Isomaru Suisan seafood restaurant is a powerful example of this!

Isomaru Suisan is a 24-hour fresh seafood restaurant that specializes in kaisen don or “fresh seafood bowls” such as salmon or tuna sashimi on rice.

You can find one of these restaurants just about anywhere in Japan, easily discoverable by its theme of blue ocean waves, fishing boats, and huge Japanese kanji characters on the shop front.

Sashimi Made Fresh!

Not only is the restaurant beautifully decorated inside and out but so are the dishes!

Isomaru Suisan takes extra care in the aesthetics and presentation of its menu items, take this tower of tuna sashimi for example.

It’s not just the looks though, because all the fish here are made fresh with a brilliant texture and taste that goes great with wasabi and soy sauce!

How they manage to deliver such quality 24 hours a day is beyond me, but it’s awesome to know you can access fresh healthy food any time in Japan!

Intricate Seafood Bowls

Isomaru Suisan is an absolute paradise for seafood lovers, whether you like it cooked or raw.

Grilled salmon, teriyaki eel, and fresh prawns are just some of the many dishes you can order in addition to sashimi.

The image you see to your right is known as the “overflowing seafood bowl,” a fitting title that certainly lives up to its name!

Consisting of the works, you get a steaming bowl of rice topped with every type of seafood imaginable (and some egg and vegetables too)!

Amazing Staff!

With a restaurant as good-looking, convenient, and delicious as Isomaru Suisan, I wouldn’t have been too ticked off if the staff weren’t the nicest.

In fact, the opposite was true, the staff went above and beyond to make our time at Isomaru Suisan a memorable one!

From answering any questions we had with utmost enthusiasm to taking photos of us, you would always catch them smiling in a cheerful manner.

Perhaps I was just lucky having gone to the Shinjuku branch (which is quite popular), but I’d urge anyone who is in or intending to go to Japan to check out this awesome 24/7 seafood restaurant!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs.
