JAM Hostel Kyoto offers a super affordable stay by the Kamo River

Clean, affordable, and in prime position by the Kamo River, JAM Hostel Kyoto gave me one of the most memorable stays in Japan.

For the measly price of 3,000 yen (20 USD) per night, I enjoyed a comfortable stay at JAM Hostel Kyoto. Located in an ideal spot by the Kamo River, it’s amazing how cheap their accommodation prices are!

Everything You Need In One Place!

Unlike some hostels that have multiple floors, JAM Hostel Kyoto quite literally “jams” everything in one place!

In just one corridor, you have access to your bedroom, common area, kitchen, bathroom, shower, and laundry!

Furthermore, the areas are cleaned regularly and you’ll find it far more hygienic than other budget hostels.

Comfortable Beds

For a budget hostel, the beds here were absolutely comfortable! Soft mattresses and pillows covered in clean pure white bed sheets made for some of the best sleeps I’ve had in Kyoto!

The rooms also come with air humidifiers, air-conditioning, and coat hangers. There is also a balcony where you can enjoy stunning views of the Kamo River!

Unbeatable Location!

One of the most sought-after scenic spots in Kyoto is the Kamo River which stretches a whopping 31 kilometers across the entire Kyoto prefecture.

Even from the window of JAM Hostel, you can see a close-up view of the river and all of its iconic wooden structures along the riverside.

If that wasn’t enough, the geisha district of Gion is also just around the corner, home to amazing cultural antiques, food and drink, and the iconic Yasaka Shrine.

You also have easy access to many other amazing Kyoto landmarks such as Kiyomizu-dera, Ninenzaka, Fushimi Inari-Taisha, Nanzenji Temple, and the Heian Shrine!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
