Japan’s Blueberry Cheesecake KitKat is a must-try delicacy!

KitKat has done it again with an exclusive new flavor, courtesy of Japan, known as Blueberry Cheesecake. Read on for my taste test review!

Aesthetic Mt. Fuji x Sakura Wrapping

You may have seen these lovely KitKat flavors at the souvenir stores in Japan, denoted by their unique Mt. Fuji-shaped boxes.

Well, today, I decided to finally give this exclusive national flavor a try, after over two years of living in Japan (about time!).

Blueberry Cheesecake is the name of the game here, featuring a gorgeous KitKat wrapper design with Mt. Fuji and cherry blossom petals (doesn’t get much more Japanese than that!).

Beautiful, Inside And Out!

The beauty of the Blueberry Cheesecake Kitkat doesn’t end there, but even after opening the treat, you will see a beautiful spectrum of light blue and white colors that transition brilliantly.

Of course, the iconic KitKat logo is still there, but this is truly the first time I’ve seen such a combination of colors being used with this iconic chocolate.

I almost didn’t want to take a bite so as not to ruin the aesthetics of it all. Indeed, this Blueberry Cheesecake Kitkat is a treat not just in a taste sense, but visually too!

Flavor As Real As It Gets

I wasn’t sure what end to take a bite out of first, but thought I’d go with the blue side to maintain that artistic transition as long as possible (yes, I’m petty like that).

I think it turned out for the best, and just like a real blueberry cheesecake, the fruity taste typically comes first while the “cake” bit is at the base and backside area.

The colors of this KitKat did more than just look pretty; they indicated which part of the wafer was heavier on the blueberry flavor and which was more of the cheesecake taste.

All in all, an absolutely delightful treat this was, and with its clever intertwining of flavors, it is quite possibly the most gourmet flavor of KitKat I’ve ever had!
