JUMP SHOP is a merch store dedicated to Shōnen Jump anime. Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto are just a few of the big-name shows featured.
JUMP SHOP is a franchise specializing in selling merchandise dedicated to anime and manga series published by Shōnen Jump magazine. The Shōnen genre encapsulates comics and shows aimed towards a young male audience, typically featuring high-action plots that are combative in nature.
Plenty to see! (And buy)
It’s no surprise that shows like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto are at the top of the Shōnen genre. These anime series grew immensely in popularity not just in Japan but also across the globe.
Nowadays, you will find dubbed versions of these shows in just about any language with the most popular being Japanese, English, Spanish, and German.
That being said, it’s no surprise that JUMP SHOP is able to attract customers from all backgrounds, uniting fans in the shared admiration of their favorite shows.
There is plenty of Shōnen Jump anime and manga merchandise that can be purchased here. T-shirts, hoodies, posters, figurines, and trading cards are just some of the many products on offer.
JUMP SHOP also offers an online store where you can browse their items and order for delivery. However, visiting the physical store offers a memorable experience beyond the simple purchase of goods.
From the Dragon Ball artwork on the walls to the roof-hanging One Piece straw hats, there is plenty to see and appreciate without spending a yen. If you do plan to spend, rest assured there is merch available to suit the full spectrum of personal budgets.
Human-sized anime sculptures!
One of the iconic monuments showcased at every JUMP STORE is the life-sized anime sculptures on display. This is something special for fans of Shōnen Jump, as you can find your favorite characters and pose with them for a photo.
For fans of One Piece, the number one best-selling manga comic of all time, taking a photo with the Luffy statue is something of a pilgrim.
While photos are permitted, be sure not to get too close as touching the statue is strictly prohibited and can get you kicked out of the store!
Of course, my own pilgrimage wouldn’t be complete without a photo of Goku from Dragon Ball. Admittedly, they didn’t quite get the face right with this one, though it offers a unique take on the art style of this Shōnen Jump classic.
Perhaps the coolest aspect of this sculpture is the billboard of artwork from the original Dragon Ball manga standing behind it.
Snippets of some of the most iconic panels from the manga are featured which are sure to hit home with many fans of the franchise.
A Shōnen-themed arcade!
JUMP SHOP offers customers more than visual appeal and buyable goods. In fact, the store has its own arcade section featuring interactive Shōnen Jump-themed games.
Many of these arcade games are not available outside of Japan, such as Super Dragon Ball Heroes and Gachapon games.
Despite only 13 JUMP SHOP stores open across the whole of Japan, the chances that you’ll come across one are quite high.
With 4 stores in Tokyo, 3 stores in Osaka, and 6 stores spread across popular regions including Hiroshima, Sendai, and Nagoya, JUMP SHOP covers all the most popular tourist destinations across the country!
Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
