Fields of pink on full display at Kameoka’s Yume Cosmos Garden

When it comes to nature’s beauty, Kameoka is the town to explore! This scenic district of Kyoto is home to the famous Yume Cosmos Garden.

The Yume Cosmos Garden is a huge field of flower gardens that the local owners of the land manage. You can enter for 500 yen and enjoy frolicking in the fields and greenhouses while appreciating the many plant species on display.

In the Heart of Kameoka

About a 20-minute walk from Kameoka station, the Yume Cosmos Garden is quite easy to access. It’s just off the main road and you will see signs with information about the garden and rules regarding usage, pets, etc.

There are two entrances to the Yume Cosmos Garden, but be sure to use the one with the white fence as this is where you will purchase your admission ticket.

I made the mistake of entering straight into the garden from another entrance without realizing I needed to purchase a ticket.

Quite a chilled atmosphere, you can rest on the seats provided and even enjoy a beverage from the on-site vending machine.

Pretty Pink Petals

Pretty pink flowers are laid out all across the fields at these special gardens in Kameoka.

While the grass and soil are quite thick here to accommodate the flowers’ growth, there are several pathways carved out for people to stroll around.

This makes it easy to get close and intimate with the flowers at Yume Cosmos Garden such that you can even smell their scents.

The Charm of Autumn

The amount and variety of flowers at Yume Cosmos Garden are best enjoyed during summer when the fields are in full bloom and all the species have sprouted. However, autumn is not such a bad time to see it either as the weather is much more tolerable, and while there aren’t as many flowers to see the beautiful golden autumn trees certainly make up for it!
