A4 is one of the highest grades of beef in terms of marbling and quality. Kamimura Yakiniku lets you eat as much as you want at a low price!
Located in the city of Moriguchi in the Osaka prefecture just along the Yodogawa River, Kamimura Yakiniku offers all-you-can-eat premium A4 wagyu beef at an incredible price!
In fact, this Japanese barbecue restaurant is a nationwide franchise with locations across the Kansai, Kanto, and Kyushu regions of Japan! Here is a rundown of how my experience at Kamimura Yakiniku went!
Touchscreen Ordering!
For just 3,580 yen (25 USD), Kamimura Yakiniku allows you to eat as much A4 beef as you like for a whole 100 minutes!
The best part is you can do it all via touchscreen ordering which allows you to scan the entire menu and order anything from A4 beef to side dishes, condiments, drinks, and desserts.
You can also call over a waiter for further assistance if needed, and there are adjustable language settings including English, Chinese, and Korean!
Meat Delivery!
Once you make an order, the system will notify you that it’s being prepared and on its way!
Using the touchscreen, you can track which orders have been delivered and which ones are still in progress.
When your dishes arrive, they will come swooping down an assembly line right next to your table for an easy pickup!
Amazing A4 Beef!
The marbling of the A4 beef is truly a sight to behold, almost like a beautiful work of art that simply must be appreciated before you grill it to its succulent perfection.
I never thought such a high grade of beef could be so affordable, but it’s just one of the many reasons you’ll find dining in Japan worth your pennies!
As someone who has tried A5 beef (the highest grade available) at a whopping 30,000 yen (210 USD) all-you-can-eat, I dare say I prefer the A4 level for buffet-style dining.
The reason is simple: A5 beef is a delicacy that is packed with an absurd amount of marbling, making it too fatty to consume in large portions without feeling sick, whereas A4 hits the sweet spot of meat-to-fat ratio.
Incredible Variety!
From scotch fillets to rib-eye steaks and beef skirts, there is a limitless variety of cuts and styles when it comes to the A4 beef here.
Each plate of meat is marinated to perfection, so I recommend trying them all to find your favorite in terms of thickness, marbling level, and portion size.
Fortunately, Kamikura Yakiniku provides scissors and other handy tools to help you chop up large pieces of meat (particularly for the rib–eye steaks!), so be sure to take advantage of your resources!
Easy To Cook!
Ergonomic tongs and a strong, stable grill are the core ingredients for a fantastic Japanese barbecuing experience.
Simply slap on your favorite meats onto the grill and watch them cook in seconds!
Just watch out for flames shooting up, after all, these are the “marbliest” meats in the business, and we all know what happens when fat and fire interact!
Easy To Eat!
Cook your beef the way you want it by leaving it on the grill for a few seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on how rare or well done you like it.
For these types of A4 meats that are high in fat percentage, I recommend going for a well-done finish as you won’t lose any of the succulent tenderness thanks to the superb marbling which keeps things juicy!
While there are plenty of dipping sauces available, you’ll only need them out of preference rather than necessity, because these meats are oozing with juicy flavor and marvelous marinate!
Great Side Dishes Too!
Too much meat is never a bad thing in my books, but why not spice things up with a few side dishes to help neutralize those taste buds (so you can eat more meat of course)?
Fried karaage chicken, takoyaki, and steamed rice are just some of the many side dishes available via the touchscreen ordering system.
Be sure to pick up a drink from the drinks bar too! I recommend something fizzy like cola or melon soda to help break down the fats from the meat for easier digestion.
Robot Waiters!
As your empty dishes start to pile up, a friendly robot waiter will come along to collect your dishes!
It will be repeating a Japanese phrase which likely means something like “please give me your empty dishes.”
So don’t be shy and stack your empty plates on either of the robot’s two collection platforms (just make sure not to overload it).
Don’t worry, it’ll be back for more, and as far as dining at Kamimura Yakiniku goes, so will you!
Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
