As Kmart is to Australians or Walmart to Americans, Kohnan is Japan’s all-inclusive retail store that has everything you need for your home!

No matter where you are in Japan, chances are there’s a Kohnan department store just around the corner where you can buy everything you need for your home.
From suitcases to power tools and pot plants to snacks, you’ll find just about anything at Kohnan at the lowest prices as you would at Walmart or Kmart.
Clothing, Equipment, Food, And More!

As an Australian, walking into Kohnan gave me an immediate sense of nostalgia of being back home in Sydney at my local Kmart store.
From the layout to the way the store was designed and right down to the individual items on display, everything seemed to remind me of a typical Australian department store.
Of course, at second glance you realize just about every brand at Kohnan is unrecognizable to the eyes of the foreigner, but like Walmart or Kmart, they are still priced incredibly low!
Whether you’re looking for home decorations, sporting equipment, groceries, clothing, or shoes, you’ll find it all at your local Kohnan store!
Top Quality Products At The Lowest Prices!
Admittedly, I only went to Kohnan to buy the cheapest possible tennis racquet I could find, particularly after Don Quijote let me down.
Each department store I tried either didn’t sell racquets at all or sold them at ridiculously high prices of 20,000 yen (135 USD) or more!
Fortunately, I came across this high-quality racquet from a brand called “Vigor” for just 3,000 yen (20 USD).
It proved to be a worthy investment, as I was now able to play tennis with my brother on a regular basis!
All things considered, you may not be inclined to visit Kohnan if you’re just here on holiday, but it may be worth checking out if you want to strike up a bargain!
