Narita Airport is the preferred choice for domestic travel to Tokyo, with some of the most underrated restaurants you’ll find at an airport!
Delicious Thai Food!

A small and cozy food court at the upper level of Narita Airport, you’ll find many travelers here coming in from the Kansai Prefecture.
Travel between the prefectures of Kansai and Kanto is perhaps the most popular route for both tourists and business people, so don’t be surprised to see flocks of people at this small domestic airport in Tokyo!
On the plus side, the influx of various people means there is plenty of catering to international customers.
You’ll find delicious food from all over Asia here, including Thailand, Japan, and China, many of which are 100% halal too!
Halal Japanese Cuisine!
I was surprised to see halal food so openly advertised at the Narita Airport food court.
There is definitely some global progression happening as negative stigmas around the Muslim community and halal-certified products are starting to make way for acceptance and understanding between cultures.
In truth, halal food is simply a preferred method of slaughter that invokes God’s name in the process and is done humanely, so there is no change to the actual cooking process and preparation of the food.

Crispy Golden Tempura!

Kineya Mugimaru is a 100% halal-certified Japanese restaurant at Narita Airport that offers delicious udon noodle soups with crispy golden tempura sides.
From battered shrimp to assorted vegetables and karaage fried chicken, I filled up on the sides alone and didn’t even need a bowl of udon to go with it!
Perhaps not the healthiest thing to do, but I sure was in the mood for some fried delicacies!
