Top 5 Seicomart goods that’ll have you coming back for more!

Seicomart is the final boss of convenience stores in Japan as far as I’m concerned. These 5 Seicomart goods will instantly brighten your mood!

1. Caramel Coffee Pudding

Gourmet desserts are no stranger to Japanese convenience stores, but Seicomart takes them to a whole new level! As Hokkaido’s exclusive brand, Seicomart is home to the highest quality dairy products that Japan has to offer. Hence, it’s no surprise that this caramel coffee milk pudding takes the top spot as the tastiest, richest gourmet dessert that I’ve ever tasted from any convenience store in Japan!

2. Napolitan Roll

An interesting take on Japan’s iconic yakisoba pan, but with an Italian twist! The Napolitan roll features soft spaghetti pasta and tomato sauce garnished with parsley inside a soft bread roll. Strange at first, but a few bites of this will have your taste buds in a trance between the soft Japanese bread roll and the tomato-based flavors of Italy, a match made in heaven! Or…you know…Hokkaido.

3. Coffee Doriyaki

Another twist on a Japanese combini favorite, Seicomart offers “coffee doriyaki” which incorporates a tasty coffee-flavored paste wedged between a pancake sandwich. While doriyaki typically uses red bean paste for its filling, if you have any appreciation for coffee whatsoever, I have no doubt you’ll fall in love with this pancake-coffee utopia!

4. Meisui Coffee

I was aware of Hokkaido’s premium dairy products and delicious baked goods, but nothing could prepare me for Meisui Coffee, an exclusive brand found only at Seicomart. Using natural mineral water from Mt. Yohei, commonly known as Japan’s “mini Mt. Fuji,” it’s honestly the smoothest, most flavorful blend of iced coffee I’ve ever had, and from a convenience store no less! Who would’ve thought Hokkaido makes the best coffee too?

5. Hot Chef Fried Chicken

Saving the best for last, Hot Chef is Seicomart’s very own brand of hot deli food that offers ready-to-eat meals and snacks that are kept in a heated compartment. Such delights include seasoned fried chicken, potato wedges, onigiri rice balls, and a variety of bento box meals. Comparing Hot Chef’s fried chicken to the iconic FamiChiki from FamilyMart, I’d say there is more chicken content and less oil with the Hot Chef version. Not saying it’s a healthy food option, but do what you will with that info! Seriously though, the seasoning on these Hot Chef fried chickens will send your taste buds into an ecstatic frenzy!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
