Stunning flower gardens at Tokyo’s Hibiya Park

Adjacent to the iconic Tokyo Imperial Palace is a popular family area featuring beautiful flower gardens known as Hibiya Park.

Just around the corner from Tokyo Imperial Palace, Hibiya Park offers a completely different vibe. Abundant in colorful flowerbed gardens, tall shady trees, and happy people spending quality time together, it’s a great place to enjoy nature’s beauty in the middle of the city.

Multiple Entrance Points

There are several different ways in which you can enter Hibiya Park, and being so close to the Tokyo Imperial Palace, it’s in an ideal location.

You can access Hibiya Park via Hibiya railway station, Kasumigaseki station, or Uchisaiwaicho station, giving you plenty of transportation options.

If you enter via the entrance opposite Imperial Hotel Tokyo, you get to see the Grand Fountain and a park map to help you navigate your way.

In the Heart of Tokyo!

Hibiya Park is like the Central Park of Tokyo, offering a big patch of greenery and natural beauty in the heart of Tokyo City.

The atmosphere is quite relaxed and you’ll find all sorts of people here from local salarymen on their breaks to friends and families enjoying quality time together.

There are also plenty of large grass areas where people come together for picnics. In fact, there are tennis courts here too!

Colorful Flowerbeds

Some of the architectural structures on display at Hibiya Park are quite mesmerizing too (though I’m unsure of their function). In any case, this stone shelter looks amazing with the colorful flowerbed and the surrounding tall green trees and bushes.

Violet & Lavender

A closer look at the flowerbeds reveals a truly aesthetic display of rich purple petals of many different shades!

From deep and intense violets to calm and elegant lavenders, strolling along Hibiya Park can be a highly therapeutic experience.

Indeed, the next time you’re in Tokyo, take your time to explore the wonderful Hibiya Park and add a colorful twist to your time in Japan!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs.
