Tsumugi Cafe offers tasty breakfast & coffee near Kyoto Station

In the heart of Kyoto, Tsumugi Cafe is serving up delicious (and nutritious) breakfast dishes and unique coffee drinks too!

Amazing Breakfast Menu

A quick walk from Kyoto Station, this humble little place known as Tsumugi Cafe draws in locals and tourists alike.

Its popularity is more than a social media trend, but a reflection of its quality breakfast items, particularly their thick-cut toast sets!

Served alongside marinated tomatoes and cheese and a fresh cup of yogurt and oats, it delivers all your nutritional needs (and desires!) for a complete breakfast.

Cool Outdoor Seating Area

On a lovely autumn day, I’d say sitting outside is the way to go! Especially since you get to enjoy the faces of jealousy from the pedestrians passing by as you indulge in delicious coffee and breakfast.

I opted for the iced caramel latte while my friend went for the pistachio coffee. Other drink options included matcha lattes and iced matcha (as you’d expect from a Kyoto cafe).

The coffee was decent, but definitely more on the average side compared to the quality of the food, particularly my succulent honey and cheese toast!

Delightful Desserts

If you’re craving a little more sweetness with your meal, check out Tsumugi Cafe’s dessert menu for gourmet dishes to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Their banana bread is quite delicious despite being a somewhat rare item to find in Japan, but the ice cream on top gives it the kick it needs!

The caramel pudding was my personal favorite, after all, pudding is one of those dishes Japan always does well!
