Unique menu items at Japan’s Pizza Hut & Domino’s stores

I previously wrote an article about pizza in Japan, but this time I want to shed the spotlight specifically on Pizza Hut & Domino’s in Japan.

Delicious Corn & Mayo Pizza

Cooked corn kernels seem to be a staple in many Japanese yoshoku (western-influenced cuisine) restaurants.

Whether it’s the hamburg steak dishes at Saizeriya or the pizzas at your favorite franchises, corn is typically used as a core ingredient.

At Pizza Hut and Domino’s in Japan, they offer a corn and mayo pizza which is simple but amazing!

In a way, it’s like your classic margarita pizza with a few extra toppings and nutritional value, and it’s an absolute winner in my books!

Ideal One-Person Pizza Packs

I’ve always loved the way Japanese restaurants and cafes cater to the solo man, the lone wolf so to speak.

Pizza Hut and Domino’s are no exception, offering packed meals that are designed for a single person so you don’t need to worry about finding someone to share a pizza with!

Such packs include a smaller-sized pizza with sides such as potato wedges and popcorn chicken.

“Hut Melts”

Perhaps the most unique item I’ve found in Japanese pizza stores is this concept of “Hut Melts” which has been popularized by Japan’s Pizza Hut.

Something like a pizza and panini combined, these Hut Melts are essentially pizza sandwiches that deliver more crunch and keep you fuller than a regular slice.

They also come with condiments like chili tomato and ranch dipping sauce for an extra kick!

Of course, if you are planning to visit Japan, you’ll need a way to get around the country as efficiently and affordably as possible. Japan Rail provides an abundance of travel passes to suit your travel needs. So whether you are traveling individually or as a group, the JR Pass is every traveler’s go-to for getting around and making the most of your time in Japan!
