Zerohachi Yakiniku is Osaka’s best halal Japanese BBQ restaurant

For Muslims, it can be challenging to find halal meat in Japan. Zerohachi Yakiniku provides an all-you-can-eat BBQ meat fix at a fair price!

Located in the heart of Osaka at OCAT (Osaka City Air Terminal) just outside Namba station is a 100% halal all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue restaurant called Zerohachi Yakiniku.

An absolute God-send for Muslim meat lovers, this restaurant lets you eat succulent cuts of Japanese beef, lamb, chicken, seafood, and more for as low as 4,000 yen (28 USD)!

High-Quality Wagyu Beef

The cuts of beef at Zerohachi Yakiniku stretch far and wide, encompassing rump, sirloin, skirt, and tenderloin wagyu beef.

There are also options for marinated chicken, lamb cutlets, prawns, fish, and vegetables for the grill.

For a restaurant located in the corner of a shopping complex, I was impressed with the level of marbling on the beef and the overall quality of the food.

While I did go for one of the cheaper all-you-can-eat options, they also had premium choices available that featured top-grade cuts of wagyu and kobe beef.

Juicy, Tender, & Delicious!

Nevertheless, you don’t need to go for the upper echelons at Zerohachi Yakiniku to enjoy a supreme level of Japanese beef.

I found the juiciness, tenderness, and overall taste of the meat to be strong and flavorsome, even with the basic buffet option.

The grill was exceptionally powerful too, resulting in barely any waiting time between placing the raw meat on and taking the cooked meat off!

Amazing Side Dishes

Another impressive aspect of Zerohachi Yakiniku is the wide selection of delicious side dishes available.

It featured a combination of Japanese and Korean-style entrées including edamame beans, kimchi, bean sprouts, sliced tomatoes, and more!

Additionally, there were plenty of ready-to-eat dishes on offer including fried chicken, grilled lamb, beef rice bowls, chicken nuggets, and french fries.

Unique Condiments

In terms of condiments, I was blown away by the variety of salts on offer in addition to the standard white salt and black pepper.

I’ve been to my fair share of Japanese barbecue restaurants, but never have I seen such unique salts as wasabi salt, dashi salt, curry salt, and lemon salt on the table!

Each and every flavor of salt was absolutely brilliant in adding a tasty new dynamic to the cooked meats, with the curry salt being my personal favorite.

In addition to the spectrum of salts on offer, there are also a few dipping sauces to try including sweet teriyaki sauce and garlic sesame paste.
