Having kids on your trip to Japan will mean not being able to do certain activities, but it also means having access to exclusive family fun!
Theme Parks

When it comes to theme parks, there’s something for everyone in Japan! Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Legoland are just a few of the many amusement parks that Japan offers for people of all ages. We all know that kids have a lot of energy to let out, and sometimes a trip to one of these sensory sensations is just what the doctor ordered to get it all out of their system! Of course, these parks aren’t just for children, as plenty of adults have themselves an equally good time too!
Pet Cafes

Japan is notorious for its wide selection of animal cafes, ranging from very meek and cute to large and (seemingly) dangerous creatures!
Whether you want to pet a cute bunny rabbit or wrap yourself up in a slithery snake, Japan has you covered!
Personally, I recommend Tokyo’s Moff Rell Bunny Cafe in Akihabara – a very family-friendly establishment where the kids can have fun feeding and playing with the bunnies.
Niche Museums
Japan is full of niche museums that are designed for families and children, though they can be just as enjoyable for adults too!
For example, the Cup Noodle Museum in Yokohama provides a fun and interactive experience for everybody, embarking on a learning adventure about the history of cup noodles and participating in cup-making workshops.
Other notable museums for kids and families include the International Manga Museum in Kyoto and the Studio Ghibli Museum in Tokyo.

Private Tours & Activities

If you want to experience cultural activities in Japan but are afraid of your children being an inconvenience to others, I’d suggest booking a private tour or activity. For example, you and the family could experience a REAL Japanese tea ceremony in Kyoto by paying a little extra for a private package. That way, you could all experience the serenity of traditional matcha tea making without stressing too much about keeping the kids in line!
